I do not bind my breasts and I do not wear push up bras. I have cleavage that I do not accentuate or hide. I paint my nails. I have a hair cut that makes me look very feminine. I never wear pants. I appreciate a pair of heels more then a pair of sneakers, but let’s get real here - I love shoes no matter what they are.
I choose not to eat meat so I love a good salad. I bike everywhere. I have (or rather, had) muscular legs from jogging. I don’t have time to wear make-up. When I do wear make-up, you bet I accentuate my lips because I have beautiful lips. My eyes look very feminine. I have a ton of hand lotion but my hands are still rough. I have big feet and small hands.
Not a single one of these qualities or habits will help you guess how I identify. But Lord knows you will keep trying. I don’t identify as femme or butch. I am not a lesbian. Even though my lover identifies as male, that doesn’t mean I identify as heterosexual. Just because I choose to wear dresses doesn’t mean I identify as a woman.
Just because I choose not to identify as my birth gender, does not mean that I am transgender. It does not mean that I am confused. I am queer. My gender is queer, my sexuality is queer, my life is queer.
I am not “queer” enough by your standards, that’s ok. I AM QUEER ENOUGH FOR MY OWN STANDARDS.
And for the “queer anon” - just because you are in the LGBTQ community does not mean that you can choose who is in it. It doesn’t make you an expert on sexuality and gender. It means we have something in common. It means you shouldn’t be attacking and telling me that I am a woman simply because I was “born that way.”
Also quoting Lady Gaga when you’re trying to “educate” me on my gender and sexuality is tacky.
Also sending me anon hate is tacky.
You are tacky.
I’m Elliot. A 20something sassy vegan queer femme trans guy from Minnesota. I love clothes, vegan food, glitter, nail polish, mascara, lipstick, shoes, and all things queer and hipster. Hey, all! My name is Parker and I’m from Maine. I identify as a genderqueer trans*guy, and even I’m not entirely sure what that means! I see my gender as a fluid progression and am excited to see where it takes me. I also identify as femme, which for me means I love getting dressed up, doing my makeup, painting my nails. if you have any questions, just ask!
So I hope you like our blog! I’m super excited about it!
